Synopsis:
During his IFS interview at the UPSC in New Delhi, Kataru Ravindra Yadav (Vaishnav Tej) recounts his journey at the request of the chief interviewer (Nasser). Ravindra comes from a poor family in a village near Kadapa’s Nallamala Forest. Ravindra’s father (Sai Chand) educates him through goat herding. Despite finishing his engineering degree and pursuing software courses in Ameerpet, Ravindra is unable to find work in Hyderabad and returns to his village.
Ravindra, his father, childhood friend Obulamma (Rakul Preet), fellow villagers Ravi Prakash, Hema, Mahesh Vitta, and others are forced to perform Konda Polam in the Nallamala Forest due to unforeseen circumstances.
Movie Performance’s:
Krish shines in several scenes with his trademark taking in. He infused many scenes with heartwarming emotions, highlighting the plight of the villagers who rely on nature for a living. Krish handled the rain sequence, as well as the scenes in which Ravindra attacks the tree smugglers and later saves a lamb from the tiger, very well.
One of Konda Polam’s major highlights is veteran composer MM Keeravani’s thumping background score. Even montage songs, particularly Rai Rai, Dham Dham Dham, and Kadhalu Kadhaluga, had an impact. However, the romantic dance numbers are underwhelming.
The cinematography of Gnana Sekhar explores the picturesque and virgin locales of Vikarabad Forest.
Movie Review
Overall, Konda Polam is an impressive and emotional storey about the inspiring journey of a young village man (Vaishnav Tej). The main strengths of this rural adventurous drama are the actors’ performances and Krish’s trademark realistic and emotional narrative. On the other hand, repetitive scenes and unnecessary commercial elements (love songs) dilute the otherwise heartfelt storey of village life. This weekend, you should see Konda Polam for its touching storey, realistic backdrop, authentic performances and writing, and overall technical finesse.
